His latest madcap seasonal treat – Aladdin and the Twankeys – opens on Thursday December 12 and runs until Saturday February 1.
To break with tradition – this year there will be a plot!! The evil Abanazar must seek out the oldest man in China known as the Special One; only the Special One can tell him the name of the Chosen One who will lead him to untold riches.

Hide AdFurther to directing, writing, ushering, and serving tea and coffee in the interval, Britain’s longest-serving fame will also be appearing as the Widow Twankey.
Joining Berwick will be regular favourites Martin Barrass , Suzy Cooper as Princess Peke-a-Boo, Sian Howard as the Empress of China, AJ Powell as the Genie of the Bling, Jonathan Race as the villainous Abanazer and In the title role of Aladdin will be Canadian actor Alexander Braatz.
Berwick said: “Aladdin and the Twankeys has all the ingredients for yet another much awaited unique extravaganza into the fun-packed world of Team Kaler and Co at York Theatre Royal.
“As always it will have all the makings of a traditional family panto with plenty of lunacy and madness.
