Have your say

GIRLS, the time has now come to enter your man for our Mr Scarborough 2012 competition.

If your boyfriend, fiance, partner, friend, brother or son is aged between 17-26 and would like to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner, Gavin Fitton from Filey, representing the town at public events, then we want to hear from you.

The competition takes place at the glittering final of Miss Scarborough and District, at the Scaborough Fair Collection at the Flower of May, Lebberston on Saturday April 21, 2012.

It is free to enter and applicants need to be unmarried with no children and live or study within a YO postcode.

Competition organiser Diane Yalezo said: “We’re really hoping that the Mr Scarborough competition will take off as last year the winner Gavin Fitton had a great time as his first role was escorting all of the Miss Scarborough and District finalists on and off stage.

“Yes, you will get a bit of banter from your friends and work colleagues for entering, but if you feel you can overcome that then please enter!

“Mr Scarborough’s role is to be an ambassador for the whole district along with Miss Scarborough, he will be invited to many functions and to open events.”

Gavin Fitton added: “It’s been a really good year and I’ve enjoyed helping worthwhile causes.

“I’d encourage other guys to go for it for the experience, confidence and to meet new people.”

If you fancy a year of fun and want to become this year’s Mr Scarborough and win a host of great prizes then don’t leave it all to the girls.

Show us what you’re made of and enter today.
