A power cut has left 2,000 Scarborough residents without electricity this morning.
The fault, which is still under investigation, was reported at 5.45am at which time 2,000 addresses were affected.
At 6.19am Northern Electric partially restored power, with the firm hoping to reconnect the 609 customers still without electricity by 12.30pm.
A total of 84 postcodes have been hit, mainly in the Castle Road, Victoria Road, Columbus Ravine and Peasholm area, as well as fault reported in Cayton.
Business, residents, doctors and dentists have been affected.
Northern Power has apologised to all customers for any inconvenience it may have caused.
