Students at Scarborough Sixth Form College have enjoyed another year of excellent results at A level and BTEC.
In results just released, the pass rate at A level was over 98 per cent. The results are even better than last year with 55 per cent of entries achieving one of the top grades A*, A or B.
Students completing two year BTEC National programmes have also achieved over 98 per cent pass rate, with 90 per cent achieving the highest grades of Distinction or starred-Distinction.
Principal Marcus Towse said: “These are brilliant results, and are a great credit to the hard work of our students, and the progress they have made.
“The high proportion of top grades means students are not only passing, but doing very well at the college, and most will now be able to progress on to their first choice destinations, whether it be a good university or a high level apprenticeship.
“Recognition is due to staff at the college for the quality of teaching and the huge amount of support given; and thanks also for the support of parents, and to our partner schools who provide the grounding on which the college builds.
“But in the end, each student needs to rise to the individual challenges of their studies, and their examinations: they should be deservedly proud of their achievements.”
