STUDENTS at George Pindar Community Sports College held a “bad hair day” to raise money for new equipment.
Youngsters in the hairdressing department let their creativity run riot and raised enough sponsorship cash to buy new tunics for Year 9 and 10 groups.
Tutor Geraldine Raisin said: “The students took part in working on each other creating outrageous hairstyles and wore them the whole day, walking around school, going for lunch and so on.
“They collected sponsor money and Babsnix of Scarborough is supplying the tunics at cost for us.
“All the students took part as well as myself and it was a fun day whilst putting their hairdressing skills to the test.”
The student who collected the most sponsorship money and won a prize was Bernice Robinson in Year 10.
