SCARBOROUGH Spa’s summer shows are back with a bang for the tenth anniversary season.

The shows are being presented by Tony Peers Productions and make up the longest running summer season in the country.

Summer Spectacular 2011 will run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, and Thoroughly Modern Musicals will be on every Monday, Thursday and Friday.

The former will feature comedian Joey Howard and the latter will feature guest performers throughout the summer.

Among the musical delights on offer in Summer Spectacular is music from Les Miserables, Barry Manilow and the Drifters.

Thoroughly Modern Musicals will feature tunes from Wicked, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and We Will Rock You.

Jo Ager, sales manager at the Spa, said: “We are delighted to welcome the fantastic Summer Spectacular back for its 10th season at the Spa.

“This longest running summer show in the country is fundamental to the success of the summer programme at the Spa and we know once again it will be a great success.

“This is complemented by the second of this season’s shows, Thoroughly Modern Musicals, which will bring a variety of music and magic for all the family.”

The shows get under way on Wednesday.
