A week-long programme of events for Scalby Fair 2014 gets under way this Sunday.

The popular event is set to attract big crowds - especially at the main Scalby Fair Day on Saturday June 21 from noon in the High Street.

This Sunday, the More Thoroughly Modern Musicals Show will be on at the Community Hall, Scalby Road, at 7.30pm, tickets £5.

Monday sees the return of the Scalby Fair Run plus children’s one-mile race. Register at the Nags Head from 6pm.

On Tuesday a family treasure hunt will take place at the Rosette from 6.30pm and on Wednesday, there will be a wine tasting and BBQ at the Nags Head from 7.30pm, tickets £7.50.

On Thursday June 19, England vs Uruguay will be shown on the big screen at the Nags Head from 7.30pm with free food.

Friday June 20 will see Soul Rida provide free entertainment at the Nags Head, plus there will be a BBQ, from 7.30pm.

There will also be a flower festival preview next Friday at St Laurence’s Church at 7.30pm, tickets £3, with viewing until Monday 3pm.
