North Yorkshire Police has issued a UK-wide appeal to trace a convicted burglar after he failed to reside at an approved address in Scarborough.

David McKenzie, 42, originally from Boston, Lincolnshire, has been recalled to prison by the Ministry of Justice after failing to reside at an approved address in Scarborough and failing to keep appointments with the Probation Service.

He was released on licence from HM Prison Humber on Friday 22 January 2016 after serving part of three-year prison sentence for a house burglary in Bridlington committed in August 2014.

McKenzie has links across England and Scotland and is likely to be using public transport to move from place to place. He is also known to break into caravans that are not in use, therefore owners are advised to carry out checks and report anything suspicious.

He is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, medium build, with short grey hair that is balding on the top and a beard. He speaks with a Midlands accent.

Anyone with information regarding David McKenzie’s whereabouts are urged to contact North Yorkshire Police as soon as possible on 101, select option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room.
