Art nibs

SIX fine-art degree students are collaborating to produce a body of work influenced and inspired by the former Royal Auction Rooms in Queen Street. They have considered the building’s present state, memories of its past, its links with the area and the possibility of other worlds that it could represent. The exhibition, organised in conjunction with Crescent Arts, is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am–4pm.

AN exhibition of paintings and mixed media by Jenni Ibbotson, entitled Inside the Exterior, can be seen at the Studio gallery in Belle Vue Parade until 9 September. It’s open from 10am-4pm Thursday to Sunday.

RUNS on the Board, a celebration of over-50s cricket in Yorkshire, can be seen at the library until next Tuesday. It features photos by Anton Want and poems by Andrew McMillan.

AN exhibition of paintings by Pauline Latham of East Ayton and ceramics by Jean Raine of East Ayton opens at the Ingrid Flute Gallery in Ravenscar on Friday. It will run until 7 September and can be seen from 10am-5pm daily. No charge will be made for admission.
