AN EMPLOYEE for Scarborough maintenance contractor Willmott Dixon has won a top award for her “exceptional efforts” to benefit people in the community where she works.

Melanie Watson has been named Tenant/Resident Involvement Officer of the Year at the Tenant Participation Advisory Service Northern region awards final.

Ms Watson is a tenant liaison officer supporting tenants on Willmott Dixon’s £3.2million contract with Yorkshire Coast Homes to repair and maintain 4,500 homes in Scarborough and Whitby.

She works closely with local service providers to offer work experience opportunities and coordinates a range of community projects, many of which deliver benefits to local people and their communities.

Ms Watson will now go forward to the national awards in July, where she will compete against the Southern and Central regional winners for the title of National Tenant/Resident Involvement Officer of the Year.
