A FUNDRAISING balloon launch is being held in Scarborough’s South Bay on Saturday in aid of Ellie’s Fund.
Family, friends and supporters will release balloons next to the lifeboat house at 1.20pm.
The event will follow the official launch of Ellie’s Fund which is taking place at Scarborough Rugby Club the previous night.
The charity was set up in memory of Scarborough teenager Ellie Othick-Bowmaker who died on Valentine’s Day last year aged just 14 after battling two brain tumours.
It aims to help local youngsters who are having cancer treatment.
People are invited to sponsor a balloon for £5, which will be released in memory of whoever they wish. For details call Heather on (01723) 351456.
