Ballot to be held on new chairman role

NOMINATIONS have now been received for the roles of chairman and vice chairman for Scarborough Urban Area Forum.

A public ballot will be held at the next meeting on Wednesday December 7.

The candidates for the positions are Malcolm Short, who is chairman the Forum’s Voice Your Choice sub-committee, Ros Fox, a founder member of the forum, and Sheila Silvester, who has been a member of the forum for over five years.

The successful candidate will also represent the Scarborough Urban area on the North Yorkshire Coast Community Partnership as a full voting member.

The next meeting will also be the decision event for the Voice Your Choice funding whereby residents will be given the chance to vote for the local community projects they wish to see funded.

It will take place on December 7 and will take the form of a drop-in session which will be held at Scarborough Library between 5pm and 7.30pm.

Scarborough Urban Area Forum is a community led consultation body that engages with local residents to help direct how public services are delivered within the town.
