FUNDRAISING is blooming for a group of Beavers as they show their support for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Children from Derwent Valley Beavers celebrated the start of the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal by holding a yellow-themed Mini Pots of Care Day.
During the day youngsters decorated their flower pots, which have been nurturing the daffodil bulbs they planted last autumn.
The Beavers have been caring for the plants in preparation for the Mini Pots of Care Day.
After all the decorating was finished seven-year-old Daniel Timlin’s pot was judged to be the most attractive, and will now go forward to compete in a national competition.
Clare Barker, assistant Beaver leader, said: “The Mini Pots of Care day went really well.
“There were around 24 Beavers taking part and they all really enjoyed it.”
Supporting Marie Curie’s Daffodil Appeal contributed towards the Beaver’s work for their Friendship Challenge Appeal.
