More snow is forecast across Scarborough in the coming days with temperatures not due to rise until Wednesday.
The Met Office has told people to expect fairly heavy snowfall today, with visibility at its poorest at around 6pm.
Temperatures are set to go no higher than 2C today.
Snow and sleet is forecast tomorrow and Monday, with the snow turning to light rain by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temperatures on Wednesday could creep up to a relatively balmy 4C.
The police in Scarborough have not reported any major incidents due to the weather, but a blue Renault left the road last night near Standing Riggs Farm, Cloughton and was still there this morning.
Motorists also reported difficulties getting up Burniston Road near the former Kinderland site and the approach to Scalby Village.
