THE Bishop of Hull, The Right Reverend Richard Frith, made a pastoral visit to Scarborough Hospital.

As part of his visit he met with chief executive Richard Sunley.

Hospital chaplain, The Revd Martin Doe, and matron for surgery, Tracey Wright, also accompanied him on a tour of the hospital.

Martin Doe said: “We were delighted to welcome the Bishop of Hull to Scarborough Hospital. Bishop Richard has kept in touch with us, especially in recent months, concerning the changes and challenges facing the trust and he has been keen to show his support for staff and patients by making a pastoral visit.

“We very much value the time he has spent with us, together with the assurance of his prayers for us. It was not possible for him to meet everyone, but I know that he would like to make a return visit at some time.”

The Bishop of Hull said: “I am aware of some of the pressures faced by staff at Scarborough Hospital and I was pleased to spend some time with them and see at first hand the dedicated care they offer.”
