Bodybuilder, 40, found dead at home in Carnaby

Tributes have been paid to a national bodybuilder and former rugby international who also worked as a doorman in Scarborough.

Scott Eccles, 40, of Carnaby was found dead at his home on Sunday.

His grief stricken parents Geoff and Margaret Eccles, of St James Road, Bridlington have spoken of the pain of their sudden loss and how much they will miss their son who was a popular and much loved man who leaves behind a 12-year old son, Harrison.

Geoff said: “I will remember him with a great deal of pain.

“He will be very, very sadly missed, especially in this house.”

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said officers were called to a property on Moor Lane, Carnaby at 2.12pm on Sunday after concerns were raised for the safety of a resident.

The spokesperson said: “On attendance a 40-year-old man was sadly discovered deceased at the property.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances in connection with the death of the man and a file will now be prepared for referral to the Coroner.”
