Boro are leading the way in the Evo-Stik North and Bloor is confident that the current crop have it in them to see the job through.

“The fans that have travelled home and away have been a massive help to us,” said Bloor.

“I know that it is difficult for them to make the trip from Scarborough, but this is a very exciting season for the club.

“We could be on the verge of making history because if we gain promotion then that would be the highest the club has been since it was reformed.

“We are putting on a show every week and there is a massive home game coming up against title rivals Farsley a week on Tuesday.

“It would be great if the people of Scarborough came down and became a part of it.”

Bloor hasn’t been shocked by the job done by boss Steve Kittrick and his management team, turning Boro from strugglers to a team flying high in the table.

He added: “The players had respect for previous managers Paul Foot and Bryan Hughes, but as a group we underperformed and they took the flak for it.

“Steve, Chris Bolder and Chris Roberts have worked hard to get rid of the players that weren’t pulling their weight and they have sprinkled quality on top of that.

“When I signed for the club promotion was my aim, it didn’t happen last season, but it certainly could happen this time around.

“We have the most tight-knit dressing room that I have ever been a part of, that spirit can get you an extra 10 points in a season.

“The belief is there and I think that is spreading to the supporters as well.”
