Brining, who was left frustrated as a calf injury ruled him out of the games against Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Rhinos, bounced back in style as he touched down in the Red Devils’ 24-14 success at the weekend.

The former York City Knights man insists he isn’t getting carried away.

He told the Scarborough News: “I was really disappointed (with the injury), but it was only round two and we have a long season ahead of us.

“It’s still early days, I’ve only played two games.

“The coaches seem pleased with how I’ve performed so far.

“They’ve highlighted what I’m doing well and also things that can help develop my game.

“Every game is tough in this league and we need to make sure we perform consistently well.”
