A KEY player in Scarborough’s family owned supermarket group is retiring after 24 years.

Naomi Booth is retiring from her position as head of advertising with the Proudfoot Group.

In her role Mrs Booth was the point of sale for the company’s three stores in Newby, Eastfield and Seamer, and was in charge of all advertising and promotional material.

Mrs Booth said: “I would like to thank the Proudfoot family and staff for making my working life so enjoyable, and I wish them every success with the new extension at the Newby Store.”

Mrs Booth started working for the Proudfoot Group after leaving Scarborough Art School, however after two years she left to support her husband’s career in the army.

Upon her return to Scarborough 22-years later Proudfoot’s joint managing director Ian Proudfoot asked Mrs Booth if she wanted to return and work for them, which she did for 24 years.

Ian Proudfoot said: “Anyone at the Proudfoot Company will agree that Naomi will be sadly missed by all.

“Naomi was a most respected employee and I would like to give her a personal thank you for all the brilliant work that she has done for us over the years. I’m sure she will stay in touch as she shops at our stores.”
