A SCARBOROUGH mother has started her own business after 30 years in the barbers industry.
Angie Kellett opened The Barbers Shop, off Scalby Road, when the former dental practice near Newby and Scalby library became vacant.
After working in the trade for 30 years, more than 11 of which were at Headers in Huntriss Row, Mrs Kellett is “excited” to be setting up on her own.
She said: “I have always worked for someone because I was bringing up my girls.
“Now my daughters are grown up it just felt right. I feel like it’s my time to do something now.
“I am passionate about my job, which encouraged me to start my own business, and I realised there was nothing this side of town catering for men. I’m really looking forward to welcoming customers old and new to the shop.”
