ENGINEERING successes was the theme of the night as business men and woman attended Scarborough’s latest Ambassador’s Forum dinner.

The event, held at the Crown Spa Hotel in the Esplanade, featured a presentation by Plaxton and Bluebird Vehicles, Scarborough two coach and bus building companies.

Mike Pixton, technical director at Plaxton, explained how the firm had grown from joinery in the building trade to manufacturing single and double deck buses and coaches for customers all over the world.

Bluebird’s managing director Rob Miller then told guests how the young company was dominating a niche market it has carved out for itself.

Peter Wilkinson, chairman of the Ambassadors Forum, said: “Historically the value of the Ambassadors Forum has proved significantly important in highlighting many successful projects.

“On this occasion Plaxton and Bluebird Vehicles, two very successful Scarborough based international companies, presented their past and current successes.”
