Company’s delight at broadband agreement

A SCARBOROUGH transport company is driving its success further forward after reaping the benefits of a former development agency.

Bluebird Vehicles is continuing to steer in the right direction after receiving an enhanced broadband service from NYnet.

The organisation was formed from the now defunct Yorkshire Forward and has helped Bluebird propel itself forward in the difficult financial climate.

Peter Robinson, the company’s sales office manager, said uploading speeds have been “horrendous”, and added the broadband move came at the right time to allow the business to progress further.

He said: “We have been looking for an improvement in our broadband service for some time, but have struggled to find affordable products in the market.

“The download speeds were reasonable but the upload speeds were horrendous at around 300kb.

“This made it extremely difficult to upload files across the internet, and share data with our other location in Clay Cross, in Derbyshire.

“We had explored the fibre option but this was too expensive.

“So when NYnet announced they were bringing a mid range product to the market, we jumped at the opportunity.”

Yorkshire Forward was among nine regional development agencies in England which aimed to transform areas through sustainable economic development.
