AN ESTATE agent is winning the battle against the economic storm by expanding its team.
CPH Property Services, in St Thomas Street, has welcomed on board 28-year-old chartered surveyor Joe Walker.
Mr Walker, the son of a local accountant, was raised in Scarborough before leaving at the ages of 23 to study a Masters degree at Edinburgh.
His professional career started with the regional firm Graham and Sibbald, in Edinburgh, where he qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2009.
Over recent years Mr Walker has been involved in a wide range of commercial work and says he is looking forward to “returning to work in Scarborough, re-establishing former connections and working with the partners to develop their busy commercial department”.
CPH Partners David Chapman and David Hastie say they are please to welcome Joe to the team.
They said: “Despite the recession over the last two years CPH has continued to expand, firstly by opening a new residential lettings department which is extremely successful.
“John Arnold heads up the lettings department and the fact he is also a fully independent qualified financial advisor has been particularly beneficial when providing both tenants and landlords with necessary advice.
“We have also continued to expand our residential sales department the success of which is down to customer care and investment in technology.”
Both partners agreed their experience with the property market over the last 40 years has helped them to takle the challenging changing economy.
