Estate agent announces closure of Filey office

A FILEY estate agents has announced it will close its office in the town.

CPH Property Services, in West Avenue, will leave Filey after nearly 11 years following an internal re-organisation.

The move will not bring any redundancies as the two staff members in Filey will be transferred to the company’s Scarborough branch in the new year.

A statement from the company said: “The partners of CPH Property Services have reluctantly decided to close the office.

“The partners David Chapman and David Hastie have carried out a comprehensive review of the property services they wish to offer in the future and how this can be best achieved.

“This process will ensure that they continue to provide the high level professional standards and customer service while meeting the changing needs of the local market place.

“As part of this process, Joe Walker joined the team about a year ago, as a qualified chartered surveyor, and this has resulted in the expansion of both the commercial department and professional valuation work undertaken despite the depressed market conditions.

“The residential lettings department continues to expand, under the management of Bev Brammer, as landlord clients appreciate the help and advice available.

“Particular attention has been given to the services available from our residential sales department.

“Internet coverage has always been a priority and our market coverage, we believe, is second to none.

“Both the partners and Stephen Short, our residential sales manager, each have well over 40 years experience in property valuations and the issues during the house moving process.

“Both partners are confident that this change will result in an even better property service in the Scarborough area.
