A NUMBER of Scarborough businesses are in the running for a top tourism award.
The finalists have been announced for this year’s coveted White Rose Awards, which will be held on October 10 at Doncaster Racecourse.
Local finalists in this area include the All Seasons Guest House in Filey, Jasmine Caravan Park in Snainton, the Crown Spa Hotel in Scarborough, the Copper Horse in Seamer and The Sands seafront apartments. The Crown Spa is a finalist in two categories.
Last year’s ceremony attracted a sell-out audience of 1,000 guests, making it the biggest tourism awards in the UK.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “Yorkshire’s tourism economy is booming and the finalist list for the White Rose Awards indicates why. The level of high quality entries was outstanding and a firm indication that our tourism industry know the importance of offering our visitors that extra special experience.”
