More Scarborough jobs are at risk as another high street retailer falls into administration.

Music and DVD chain HMV is today set to call in administrators, putting 4,350 jobs at risk nationally including several at Scarborough’s store.

The move comes just days after camera store Jessops shut its stores on Friday.

Staff at the shop in Westborough, which sits opposite HMV, lost their jobs in the move.

Administrators for HMV will keep the 239 stores across the UK open while it seeks a buyer for the business.

They said they will not be accepting gift vouchers or issuing any more.

Online shopping has been blamed for the move, with Jessops and electrical retailer Comet, which closed before Christmas, also hit by the shift in consumer trends.

What do you think? How will you be affected if HMV closes or by the closure of Jessops and Comet?
