THE FIRST major hospitality conference hosted in Scarborough for five years got underway yesterday.
The event, named Caterall, saw businesses from across the north of England gather to exhibit their services.
The conference will continue today, but speaking as the event’s first day drew to a close, Alison Barnes, of the Scarborough Hospitality Association, said it could already be classed as a success.
“It’s gone really well,” she said. “The feedback from the exhibitors is that they are making good leads.
“This is the first year we’ve organised it, so it was a bit of a trial run, but it’s gone very well.
“One has already asked to book some space for next year.”
Around 3,500 invites were distributed to people in the industry for the ticket only event.
Businesses as diverse as food and drink suppliers, accountants, PR companies and coffee suppliers have been invited to exhibit their products.
The event runs from 10am - 4pm today.
