LOCAL housing provider Yorkshire Coast Homes has been rewarded for the way it treats its residents.
The housing association has been awarded the Investors in Diversity standard and is on its way to being the first organisation to reach a second accolade by becoming a Leader in Diversity.
Yorkshire Coast Homes provides more than 4,300 homes for people in Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and surrounding areas.
Chief executive Shaun Tymon said he was proud that the housing association had gained the diversity recognition.
He said: “Fairness, equality and diversity are values that are entrenched across the organisation and symbolise our commitment to valuing everyone, in a changing society.
“It is very pleasing that the National Centre for Diversity has awarded us the standard as it demonstrates that commitment to everyone who might work with or work for, Yorkshire Coast Homes.
“Our commitment to this is so strong however, that we will not rest on our laurels and will continue to work towards becoming a Leader in Diversity.”
The Investors in Diversity standard is awarded by a national body, the National Centre for Diversity, which works with organisations to promote diversity.
It joins a host of other accolades it has earned, having also achieved Customer Service Excellence in various areas.
