A TAXI firm is rolling out business expansion with a move to new offices after just two years.

3and5five5’s started operating from the Newlands Pub in 2009 after co-owners Jo Hakings and Brian Messruther saw a gap in the market for a taxi firm their side of town.

Business has since grown to such an extent that the firm has now opened its own dedicated bookings offices in St Helen’s Square.

In addition, over its two years in operation, 3and5Five5’s has grown from running one car to ten, and now employs a total of 16 people.

Mr Messruther said: “We had to move to an office as we were getting that busy we needed somewhere where people could walk in to.

“I think there is really a market out there for day trade, and we have really picked up on that.

“I wasn’t expecting the business to grow this fast when we started it but I’m glad it has.

“Thank you to all our customers who have supported us since we started.”

The growth of the business has seen the firm give employment to Scarborough people, many of which who were previously out of work.

As well as the 11 divers the business also employs five operators.

The company has also put its drivers through NVQ training courses in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving.
