A new operations manager has been appointed at Scarborough stationery manufacturer Duraweld.
Keith Dawson has taken the position at the Salter Road based business.
He will now lead the 50 strong production team at the company’s Eastfield factory, and has been tasked with focussing on further developing the brand’s lean manufacturing processes, just in time delivery systems and its industry accreditations, which includes Quality Management Standard ISO9001.
Mr Dawson, who previously worked for the Manufacturing Advisory Service, and various other manufacturing organisations, says he excited to joining a dynamic sector.
He said; “It is great to be joining Duraweld at such an exciting time.
“Manufacturing is such a dynamic sector, with a constant flow of new ideas and innovations, and by bringing my operational experience to the business I hope to make a significant contribution the company’s future success.”
Duraweld specialises in the manufacture of bespoke stationery products including folders, ring binders, dividers, organisers, boxes, conference packs, wallets and retail packaging.
The firm, which was founded more than 50 years ago, now has a ran wide ge of clients and uses environmentally friendly manufacturing, winning awards for its green credentials.
