Manufacturing from region in new Qatar city

ELECTRICAL substations in a new city built on the east coast of Qatar are set to feature 20,000 aluminium clamps from the east coast of Yorkshire.

Rillington-based Ellis Patents two-hole aluminium cable clamps were specified through the company’s Qatari distributor, Mannai Trading.

Tony Conroy, Ellis Patents export manager, said: “When complete, Lusail City will be home to more than 200,000 people, play host to an estimated 80,000 visitors a year and be one of the host cities for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. All of which means it is amongst the biggest developments in the world today and one that we were eager to be involved with.

“As with a great deal of our export success this goal was achieved through our local representatives, who were able to make the necessary contacts and do a very effective job of highlighting the benefits of using our products over those of competing manufacturers.”
