A FORMER Scarborough pupil has been awarded chartered status from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Edward Ryder, who studied at Pindar School and Scarborough Sixth Form College, is now one of only 5,800 chartered marketers world wide.
He has gained his status through his work with his own Leeds based marketing agency Biskit, of which he is managing director.
Mr Ryder said: “It has taken two years worth of continuous development, plus previous qualifications to get my chartered status, so I am very pleased.
“I didn’t study marketing at Pindar School, but it gave me the grounding and the interest to pursue a career in business.
“I often think about the school when visiting Scarborough.”
Mr Ryder has also recently been appointed as chairman of the Mid-Yorkshire Chartered Institute of Marketing.
The institute is the largest professional marketing organisation in the world.
