THE newest addition to Seamer Road Retail Park on the outskirts of Scarborough opens tomorrow.

Scarborough mayor, Cllr Hazel Lynskey will cut the ribbon to officially open Dunelm Mill, on the site of the old MFI unit, at 9am.

The new 21,947 sq ft store will be the homeware giant’s 111th UK store and will create 50 local jobs.

Spread over two floors, the Scarborough store has been designed to accommodate Dunelm Mill’s range of homeware items.

The unit has been vacant for more than two years after MFI went in to administration in December 2008.

Since then neighbouring Allied Carpets closed its Scarborough store.

Brantano footwear and Next at Home have both been linked with moves to the site.
