Scarborough Council has continued its digital drive to boost tourism in the borough, with the launch of a new mobile-optimised website.

The mobile site builds on the digital element of the marketing strategy for the website www.discoveryorkshirecoast.com which has already benefited from a new website, social media profiles, page-turning brochures and visitor e-newsletters.

Users pointing their mobile devices to the website will automatically be redirected to the mobile version.

And it is accessible on all mobile and tablet devices using responsive design to provide visitors with a simple, user-friendly way of researching the Yorkshire coast.

There is no app to download, and the site is optimised for functionality that matches the desktop version of the site.

Included on the site are details of more than 600 tourism partners, ranging from shopping and outdoor activities to upcoming events and food and drink, as well as an easy-to-use search function for things to do, eating out and booking accommodation.

The wide range of content on the site reflects the breadth of attractions and activities the area has to offer.

It includes Scarborough’s Sea Life Sanctuary, castle and museums, as well as Whitby Abbey and the Captain Cook Museum, and the Yorkshire coast’s variety of scenic rural villages and seaside towns.
