New Poundstretcher to open doors tomorrow

SCARBOROUGH’S new Poundstretcher store it set to open at 9am tomorrow, creating 15 new jobs.

The 5,400 square foot store in Westwood will be the discount chain’s 404th store in the country.

Poundstretcher is know for selling a wide range of goods at low prices, including homewares, garden products, electricals, DIY, toys, clothes, stationery, motoring and pet products.

The store also stocks everyday items such as food, toiletries, and household goods, including big brand names.

Ian Dunster, store manager, said: “We are delighted to open this store and hope to become Scarborough’s favourite one-stop shop.

“We invite everyone to come into the store and experience our low prices for themselves.

“There will also be some special opening offers to celebrate the opening too, so you are doubly sure to find a bargain!”

The property, behind Comet, had been empty since former occupant Factory Fabric Centre closed in February 2008. Poundstretcher has opened 50 stores in the last 18 months.
