AN empty town centre shop is to reopen as a weekly repayments store.
The former Currys Digital store in Westborough, which has been vacant since September last year, is to reopen as BrightHouse.
Watford based BrightHouse is one of the UK’s largest rent-to-own companies providing branded household goods to customers on weekly payments at more than 220 retail stores nationwide.
Work is currently underway to refit the store, although an official opening date is yet to be announced.
It is not yet known how many jobs the new store will create, though vacancies are expected in retail and service and distribution.
BrightHouse will be the third national name to occupy the store in three years.
The shop was home to Dixons before Curry’s Digital took over, however in August last year Curry’s announced they would be closing the Westborough branch and moving staff and services to the Currys and PC World superstore off Seamer Road.
The shop has been empty since, until workmen started on the site last month to prepare it for the arrival of BrightHouse.
