SCARBOROUGH’S Barracuda Bar is reopening as The Barbican tonight following an £85,000 makeover.
The popular bar, in St Nicholas Street, has been closed for 12 days while the refurbishment was carried out.
The Barbican now features a new bar area as well as a new food offering which will include a carvery on a Sunday.
During the closure the 19 staff took part in training in wine, cocktails, food and customer service to prepare for the opening and the introduction of table service in the bar.
Owners say the new name was chosen in honour of the castle defence which can be viewed from the bar.
The Barbican, which is still owned and operated by the Barracuda chain, will be officially opened during a VIP gathering at 5pm before it is opened to the public at 7pm.
