YORKSHIRE Coast Homes in Scarborough has been awarded with the prestigious title of Investors in People Champion, acknowledging their commitment to improving performance through people.

With over 100 employees, the organisation now joins other champions across the North of England in promoting and supporting Investors in People through best practice activities.

To become a champion all applicants must hold Investors in People Gold recognition, an accolade the organisation achieved in November 2010.

The scheme recognises and rewards organisations who have been outstanding in promoting the values and principles of Investors in People, leading by example in the way they manage and develop their people.

Debbie Gordon, assistant director of corporate services, said: “Achieving champion status is a great honour for Yorkshire Coast Homes.

“As an Investors Champion we can share our experiences, successes - and failures - with others, not only for their benefit but to also encourage continuous improvement.”

Yorkshire Coast Homes is a charitable organisation that owns and manages 4,300 properties across the Scarborough area.

Established in 2003, they are the biggest provider of social housing in the area.
