A SCARBOROUGH bus driver has been rewarded for his 25 years’ service to East Yorkshire Motor Services.

The bus group held an awards dinner at Tickton Grange Hotel, near Beverley, where 10 employees were recipients of Long Service Awards.

Among the eight staff to achieve 25 years’ service was Scarborough bus driver Philip Dixon.

Commenting before presenting the awards with finance director Peter Harrison after the dinner, EYMS chairman Peter Shipp said that he was delighted and proud to have so many long-serving employees and suggested this was an achievement that not that many companies can match these days.

Presentations were also made to four employees who had achieved 35 years, one with 40 years and two who achieved 45 years continuous service.

Five more had achieved long qualifying periods of service but were unable to attend the presentation.
