Sharpshootin’ park owners ride off with major award!

A SCARBOROUGH holiday attraction has breathed new life into its business after an award from a real-life dragon!

Dave and Kerry Woodhead, who own Pinewood Holiday Park, in Racecourse Road, are celebrating after picking up a Small Business Sunday accolade from Theo Paphitis.

The honour, created by Mr Paphitis, allows small businesses the chance to briefly tell him about themselves.

Each Sunday, the Dragon’s Den entrepreneur chooses his six favourite businesses from thousands of applicants, and uses Twitter to re-tweet the company to nearly a quarter of a million people.

The pair, whose park focuses on a Wild West theme, were one of the very first winners of the award and travelled to Birmingham to meet fellow success stories.

They said: “When we first heard that we were a winner, it was in the early days of the awards and we didn’t really know much about Twitter.

“However, it soon became clear that this was a big deal. The event was brilliant and Theo and his team were so friendly and down to earth.”
