A date has been set for a by-election for the Eastfield Ward of Scarborough Borough Council.
The seat became available with the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Geoff Evans earlier this month after he refused to apologise for calling a grandmother a “stupid cow” 18 months ago.
The by-election will be held between 7am and 10pm on Thursday, November 21.
Nominations papers for anyone wanting to stand for election are available from the Electoral and Regulation team at Scarborough Council and completed papers must be returned to: Returning Officer, Scarborough Borough Council, Town Hall, St Nicholas Street, Scarborough YO11 2HG no later than noon on Friday, October 25.
The last day for new applications to vote by post is Wednesday, November 6 and by proxy is Wednesday, November 13.
