The event will be held on Wednesday at 7.30pm at the Fledglings restaurant at Yorkshire Coast College.

There will be a three-course meal, an after dinner speaker and a raffle. Tickets cost £20 and can be purchased by contacting the kennels on (01723) 870456.

Staff member Suzanna Douglass said the money will go towards looking after dogs like Roxy.

She explained: “We have had Roxy in our care since February when she came in to us for rehoming after being found wandering the streets as a stray.

“She was timid when she first arrived and has taken a bit of time to come out of her shell.

“Roxy is now a very outgoing, friendly young dog who loves to be in the company of people. She gets on well with other dogs but will be best suited in a home where she will have one-to-one attention with her new owner.

“She has become a favourite with the staff at the kennels after being in their care.”
