Flamingo Land staff are celebrating the birth of a baby camel.
The calf has yet to be named, but is said to be healthy and being looked after well by mum Abi.
A spokesperson for the resort, near Malton, said: “Abi was hand-reared but she still has a motherly instinct to make sure the calf is protected and suckling from her.”
Mum and calf are two-humped Bactrian camels, from the Gobi desert in Asia, which are a critically-endangered species because of droughts and attacks from wolves.
Female camels are pregnant for between 12 and 14 months.
