A DRIVER and a motorcyclist have avoided serious injuries after colliding with one another at a level crossing - in the path of an oncoming train.
The driver of the train was ordered to perform an unscheduled stop to avoid becoming part of the accident.
Emergency services received reports at around 3.40pm of a collison between a motorcycle and a car at a level crossing in Muston.
Shortly after the collision the barriers of the level crossing came down for an approaching train, however the train stopped prior to the scene.
The car was then removed from the crossing and the scene was clear by 4.05pm.
As a result of the incident the motorcyclist suffered an ankle injury. Noone in the car was injured.
