A young carer from Scarborough has been praised for his efforts after designing a new charity logo. Joseph Bailey was asked to create the design by Scarborough and Ryedale Carers’ Resource for their Young Carers’ Service. Chief officer Elizabeth McPherson said: “Joseph showed great initiative and took on board lots of suggestions and ideas. It was a real team effort! Well done to Joseph. As a thank you we have presented Joseph with a gift voucher as we really appreciate all his effort.”

Joseph is one of the charity’s Young Carers Champions and recently, along with two other young carers, he attended The Youth Voice Summit in York, which featured workshops such as public speaking, team building and marketing. Joseph is a strong advocate and mentor for Young Carers and their families. Scarborough and Ryedale Carers Resource is a free confidential organisation offering information, advice and support to all unpaid carers.
