SOUL RIDA, an energetic seven-piece Commitments-style band from York, is playing at the Blues Club for the first time on Friday.
The band is fronted by singer Laura Welburn, who has sung at the club several times.
Laura is due to record a CD of blues and soul, backed the club’s resident band, later this year. She will sing at the club on Tuesday nights in the summer.
On Friday, she will blast out a wide range of rock, soul and pop numbers backed by, among other things, Soul Rida’s impressive brass section.
Entry costs £5 (£3 for club members). Doors open at 8pm and the band will be on stage from 9pm until late.
