FANCY dress fun helped pull in the funds as a Scarborough charity shop celebrated its 15th anniversary.

Staff at Scarborough’s Age UK, in Newborough, invited customers to help them mark their anniversary, while giving an extra boost to the charity.

Throughout the day staff were in fancy dress, and there was also a tombola and raffle.

The celebrations also featured a special presentation to two of the shop’s longest serving volunteers.

Barbara Hill and Joan Dance were presented with bouquets and certificates in honour of their 15 years’ service.

Annette Bailey, shop assistant at Age UK, said: “We had a great day. The customers all enjoyed joining in the celebrations and we had a little party for the staff in the back room.

“It was a good chance to thank everyone for their support over the past 15 years.

“Thank you also to everyone who donated prizes and supported us on the day.”
