PEOPLE can help save lives by taking part in blood donor sessions being held in Scarborough next month.
The events will take place at Scalby Parish Hall in Scalby Road on Friday July 15, and at Westborough Methodist Church on Tuesday July 19. Both events will be open from 2pm to 4pm and from 5pm to 7pm.
Currently 7,000 units of blood are needed everyday across England and North Wales yet only four per cent of the eligible population give blood.
Anyone aged between 17-65, weighing more than 50 kg (7st 12lb) and in general good health could potentially start saving lives by becoming a blood donor. There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years. To book an appointment call the Donor Line on 0300 123 23 23 or visit www.blood.co.uk
