Charity auction for dog fund

THE Yorkshire Coast Dog Rescue Pickering and Malton Branch, which has been in operation since November last year and has raised more than £1,000 to help to save abandoned dogs in the Scarborough and Ryedale area, is holding a big charity auction on May 5 in Pickering Memorial Hall.

Tickets are £3 each to include a glass of wine and nibbles.

Already donated for auction, are a Porsche driving experience, Go Karting, theatre tickets, a vineyard tour, various activity centres, restaurant vouchers, a Robert Fuller print, a dog portrait and pet painting.

The branch is asking businesses if they are willing to donate towards expenses for the evening.

Organiser Kate Collier said: “We are not asking one person to donate everything, we have had one cheque for £30 from someone.

“If we could cover costs beforehand everything on the night goes straight to help the dogs.

“We are always wanting tombola prizes, raffle prizes etc all year round as we try to have at least one event every month.

“Any help, no matter how small, is appreciated.”

Tickets can be obtained from Kate Collier, telephone 01751 473245 for details.
