Charity boxes stolen from guest house

Police are appealing for information after three charity boxes were stolen from a guest house in Scarborough.

At sometime between 7.30am and 8.15am on Saturday a suspect entered Gordon Hotel, in Ryndleside, through the front door and took the charity boxes from a table in the foyer.

The stolen charity boxes were collections for Barnardo’s, Marie Curie and the PDSA.

It is not known how much cash was in the tins.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident or has any other information about the theft, to get in touch.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Gemma Johnson or Scarborough Police.
